Long time I didn't post eh?

兄弟

That's what I was reminded of several days ago. And the thing is, it was during a movie. The Green Hornet starring Jay Chou (let's not talk about the obnoxious Caucasian lead shall we?).

Hearing the word
兄弟 being said out loud and having Kato call another person his brother, however ridiculous he was, was simply heartwarming. It got me thinking about other people and their relationship with people they willingly accept in their lives. So willing, in fact, to the point of having them as their brother/sister. The brother/sister term being 兄弟/姐妹.

I reflected upon my own decision to admit only certain people into my life and the rest being kept at arm's length. At the moment, it felt silly, not letting people in easily. That particular moment had me thinking about my life and whether I would actually have way more friends if I just opened up. I might even have more than one
兄弟. Even the current 兄弟 is cool about the whole friendship. We hardly talk and he rarely shares anything with me. Of course, I do have reasons for having him as my 兄弟.

And that brings me to my realisation. People stay for a reason. Those who do are worth my time.

What I did with my birthday notification for a certain website was proof enough. When the day came, I got wishes from people. Not as many as the previous year but it was enough. I got what I wanted.

So here's what I think now:

I may or may not have more
兄弟姐妹 in the future but I know when I do, they'll stay.

Till another post, later days.
